BACK TO SCHOOL

School has officially started! Yahoo! IThe decreased noise level is a welcomed sound. Yes, I still have the boys, but they were so good and I think that they enjoyed having the house back to themselves. However, they cried when the girls left. Throughout the day when they saw or heard a school bus go by, they ran to the door or window to see if their sisters were coming. It was really cute.

The girls started yesterday (Monday) and only had a half day. Alayna is in 6th grade and started at a new school. She was very anxious to get to school today so that she could switch classes and use her locker. Her school starts an hour later than she's used to, so she's getting up about the same time as the girls and getting ready, but has no where to go. I think she's forgotten that she can sleep in a little later!

SNOW WHITE & THE SEVEN DWARFS (08/13/08)

SNOW WHITE: ME
SEVEN DWARFS: MY 5 KIDS + 2 MORE

My friend Kylla had some affairs to get in order
while in town, but she didn't have a sitter. I volunteered because it has been long overdue that I have seen her boys and spent some quality time with them. It was a lot of fun, but tiring. I have also known Kylla since high school and couldn't imagine doing anything else when she needed someone. The boys stayed overnight and it was a flashback in time for me. Brayden, 5, was an absolute pleasure and way too smart for his own good. Rhylan,1, brought a lot of smiles into this house. He was the BEST baby and I couldn't have asked for an easier sleepover. However, I do not miss the baby cleanup after meals, but I do miss the "toothless" smiles.

We celebrated Brayden's 5th birthday (was the day before) by baking Brownies and apparently it was one of the many parties he was to partake in for the month. Here are the two additional children that I "inherited" for a couple of days. Kylla & Jason, thanks for letting me spend time with your awesome boys! They are welcome back any time.

THE NEW ROOMS (08/06/08)

As all sisters do, they fought until it drove me crazy! In a desperate attempt to regain my sanity and save their lives, I decided it was time to seperate them. The girls had been couped up in one room and had to share EVERYTHING! They slept on a bunk bed that had a full size bed on the bottom and a twin on top.

The toy room no longer exists and my scrapbook area is now a little smaller. Oh well, it's worth it. Alayna moved into the basement which is unfinished, but has carpet and painted walls. She had it decorated in no time. By the time I finished up with the girls' room, she was all moved in! It has been wonderful for all of us and she loves the privacy--she's at that age! Here are a few shots of her new room. We have a few more things to do down there so it can be a little more comfortable and more "stylish" for her.

Alayna is SOOOOO excited about her new room!

Here is a peek at Molly & Devyn's room:

We didn't do too much in here except take out the bunk bed and set up the twin beds. The boys will have to stay in their cribs a bit longer. These were going to be their beds. It has made a world of difference by doing this. The girls all have their own space and I now know who REALLY was the slob! I won't mention any names. :)

A DAY AT GRANDMA & POPPY'S (08/01/08)

GRAB A DRINK & A SNACK, THERE'S A LOT OF PHOTOS!

The boys wearing Grandma's glasses. They came out of the kitchen with these on and fought until each one had a turn.

Mark this on your calendars...Molly & Devyn were getting along!

As the boys are riding their trucks down the sidewalk, Dominick gets off his truck and pushes it over. He heads into the neighbor's yard (seen here) and just starts to pout. I thought he was joking around, but he meant BUSINESS! He was so mad, I had enough time to run into the house to get my camera and capture this face I've never seen before. I still to this day, don't know what he got mad.

GOING FOR A RIDE ON THE TRIKE...

Devyn & Anthony were giving each other rides on the trike. They looked so cute! For the rest of the afternoon, the boys took turns riding the trike and the fire truck, but Anthony mostly rode the trike after Dominick's pouting spell.

TREE CLIMBING...

This is a beautiful cherry blossom tree that has been climbed by all of the children and grandchildren of this family. The boys wanted to try their first climb.

WATER PARK & MINI PUTTING

Now, you don't actually think that I would take them to those places, do you? I'm afraid I would have to be heavily medicated to even think about that! So, for their safety, I just turned on the sprinkler and soaked in the rays as they played. Lord knows that I'm pale enough to require sitting in the sun.

As you can see, Dominick was the one who mostly played in the sprinkler. He liked drinking the water and said it was "DE-LISS-US!"

I was able to get one shot of Anthony sitting still in one spot.

After the sprinkler wasn't fun anymore, the boys dried off and decided to hit some golf balls around. Anthony has a true talent of golfing like his dad--AND--Dominick's talent is collecting balls! We will be checking into OCD info because I think that this video is proof that he doesn't not like disorder. I wonder where he gets it from? :) Not my side...

My camera does not have sound, so this will be a "silent" movie (unless you have the music playing from the blog.)

This is the first time I've posted a video. You'll have to excuse the shakiness of the video, I was laughing at them and they were here, there, and everywhere. I didn't know who record. Dominick didn't want me to "get him" with the camera, so I caught him when he wasn't looking.

OH, BOY(S)!

Time has slipped by yet once again. Here are some photos of the boys that I have accumulated over the past month or so and you will get a chance to see their skills of making a mess and keeping us laughing. They have definitely been busy, which keeps me going. It seemed that I had my camera out many times during the day documenting what havoc 2 year old twin boys can have on a house (& a mother.) Ugh!

In this first photo, you will see Dominick crashed in our bed (with his puzzle). This was taken at about 10 pm when we were going to bed. He was put in his crib at about 8:30. We saw the glow of the TV (which was turned off when he went to bed) from the bottom of the stairs and knew what we would find. He is known for sneaking out of his crib, turning on the TV and dragging his blanket, sock, and puzzle/book into our bed. Apparently the bed was not to his liking either because he had whipped the covers, threw my pillow on the floor, and arranged the decorator pillows as he chose. He was victorious in his plan THIS TIME!

Anthony had nothing to do with "Operation Sneek TV". He has an alibi!

On this day, I was in the basement doing laundry and Anthony found the toolbox next to the dryer. He apparently concealed the tool on our trip up the stairs to put laundry away. I took another trip to the basement, leaving Anthony in my room to watch TV. Much to my surprise, this is what I find: He looks up and says, "Mommy, I fix you bed!"

My little "Mr. Fix It!"

Moving on, you will now witness the boys LOVE for "chock-lit" milk. The girls bought a bottle of milk at the store and there was some left and the boys were given the rest. They tried their darndest to get every last drop. We gave them each a straw and they managed to coordinate themselves to get a few sips.

Dominick's turn...

...Anthony's turn

I couldn't stand watching them struggle any longer...I extended their straws and it was good to the last drop!

SPEAKING OF CHOCOLATE MILK...

Dominick says, " MMM, GOOD!"

We should've known that he was too quiet for too long. I luckily had my camera handy and this is the Kodak Moment you have been waiting for. He was digging his hands in the chocolate milk container and licking away. It was EVERYWHERE and he didn't care! He even wanted to help clean it up (by licking the counter!)

This is obviously not all, but keep your eyes peeled for more and exciting adventures.

SPLISH, SPLASH

" The Girls"

I thought that these pictures were worthy of adding to the site. The girls went to their friends', Lilly & Emily's house for a swim. They are in walking/bike riding distance which makes it nice to visit them. Alayna went to Kindergarten with them and remains pretty close even though they go to different schools. The reason for posting the photos is because they turned out really nice and I figured I should document this for when the girls say they don't do anything and they are BORED! I'll have them come back to the website to refresh their memories. :)

The girls have become little "fishies" this summer. Alayna & Molly do tricks off of the diving board, swim under water, and have races. They do really well and Molly has improved her underwater skills immensely. Alayna has been swimming for awhile now and took to it right away as she does everything else.

Devyn has made leaps & bounds this year, literally. She wouldn't even get her face wet last year and was still wearing arm floaties in the shallow end. This year, she started off by putting her face underwater. One day she decided that she wanted to jump off of the diving board and just went for it. After I recovered from my heart failure, I had realized that she jumped in without any kind of floating device and swam right over to the ladder. Now, we can't keep her out of the deep end! I am forever being asked to watch her as she discovers that she can do new tricks such as underwater somersaults. She said she was very proud of herself. We told her she has every right to be. What an accomplishment.

AAAAAAAL-VIN!

Alvin, Simon & Theodore...
I took the boys, Molly, & Devyn to a family matinee today while Alayna was at volleyball camp. I figured since Alvin & the Chipmunks was a favorite of the boys, I would be safe to try a movie outing with them. I was right! They loved it. They sat surprisingly still for most of it. I let them explore the theater before it started so that they weren't so antsy during the show. The front row seats seemed to be a big hit and they made themselves right at home. No thanks, I can't do the front row, so back to our seats we went.

It was a lot of fun & we're going to try to do it again next week when Jake's on vacation. I would've never thought to take the boys to a movie, but it was a lot of fun to watch them with their eyes wide open, dancing, & clapping. They drank all the pop they could before I caught them. It was 10 a.m., so I was trying to monitor it...didn't work out so well. Especially after Dominick dropped his "full" pop all over the floor and my pants. Whoops! It was to be expected.

When the movie began, Dominick was amazed with the whole setup and said, "Ooooh, what a big TV!" He then got off his chair and started looking around. I asked him what he was doing and he said, "Mote are you?" (translated: Remote, where are you?) Anthony just sat & smiled & laughed the whole time. He snuggled with Devyn most of the time and then decided to sit by me. I think we changed seats about 5 times. All in all, it was great time, even with wet pants.

"If I could just find the RIGHT chair!"

It's inevitable...Anthony in the theater, with the DS game passing time during the previews.

"Mmmm...POPCORN! If I'm quiet, maybe I won't have to share."

"Oh, Molly...I KNOW you want a puppy lick!"
